Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp Sea Salt
  • 2 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbsp Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper
  • 2-3 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional

Instructions
 

  • Add the ingredients to a bowl and mix all the spices, stirring until well blended.
    Tip: Place spices in a jar and shake until they are well combined.

How to Use Homemade Taco Seasoning

  1. In a skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef, turkey, or chicken. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of the seasoning per pound of meat. (add more for desired taste)
  3. Pour in ⅔ cup of water per pound of meat.
  4. Stir, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, until the flavors have blended perfectly.

Additions & Substitutions

  • Spicy kick – add cayenne pepper or extra red pepper flakes.
  • Smoky flavor – swap smoked paprika for chipotle powder.
  • Low sodium – reduce the salt or use a salt substitute.
  • Mild version – use less chili powder for a kid-friendly seasoning.
