- 2 tbsp Sea Salt
- 2 tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 2 tbsp Cumin Powder
- 2 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tbsp Oregano
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 2-3 tbsp Chili Powder
- 2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional
Add the ingredients to a bowl and mix all the spices, stirring until well blended.Tip: Place spices in a jar and shake until they are well combined.
How to Use Homemade Taco Seasoning
- In a skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef, turkey, or chicken. Drain excess fat.
- Add 2 tablespoons of the seasoning per pound of meat. (add more for desired taste)
- Pour in ⅔ cup of water per pound of meat.
- Stir, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, until the flavors have blended perfectly.
Additions & Substitutions
- Spicy kick – add cayenne pepper or extra red pepper flakes.
- Smoky flavor – swap smoked paprika for chipotle powder.
- Low sodium – reduce the salt or use a salt substitute.
- Mild version – use less chili powder for a kid-friendly seasoning.
