This birthday antique haul made it the best day ever!

I am so excited to share my birthday antique haul with y’all that I got last Saturday. So now you know that if I have an opportunity to go antique shopping, well then you know I will be in my glory, even on my birthday!

Large wicker basket, Mason jars, houseplants, embroidered linen napkins, step stool from my birthday antique haul.

My sister asked me what I was doing for my birthday since it was on Saturday, and I said I wasn’t sure. She asked me if I wanted to go to breakfast and then go antique shopping; now, if you know me, I would say that couldn’t be an any better way to celebrate my birthday! I about jumped with excitement & spilled my coffee. Lol, The following day, my sister picked me up early, and the first thing we did was get some breakfast; then we headed to this Antique shop that I had been itching to go to. This place is enormous, and I knew we would be there for a good while, but we sure did have a great time.

Antique Store called Crickets Antiques & Garden Market.

You wouldn’t believe how much there was to look at! We spent a good couple of hours perusing, shopping and appreciating all there was, including the fun hand-crafted items they were selling.

Shelves filled with mason jars & random vintage items.

I was being very selective & working with a modest budget. So I didn’t want to get it because I liked it. I also looked at the list of items on my phone that I have been wanting when visiting my local thrift shops or antique malls. Even though I didn’t get what I wanted on my list, I did find some other unique treasures for my home that would be for intentional use.

Large Mason Jars

Now you know by now that I have an obsession with mason jars, especially vintage ones. I saw this tall jar with glass but with no markings. I did a picture search, and it’s a Hazel Atlas jar. That’s all I got. Not sure what it’s used for. But I loved it, so my sister bought it for me. Then during our travels throughout the shop, I discovered another one a little wider. So now I have two. I will indeed find a way to use them for intentional use.

Vintage Wicker Basket

On my list, I have been searching for a vintage basket. However, I found a tall one I was thinking of storing under my butcher block for storing potatoes. Still, it was a bit too big, so I will use it in the laundry room for dirty clothes. My sister also bought it for me for my birthday 🙂

Linen Napkins

The details on this set of napkins were so pretty. I just love the lace on the border of the napkins. They were in fantastic condition too. Not sure if I will ever use them because I don’t want to ruin them, so I laid them across a plate in my china cabinet,

House Plants

I know you can get houseplants at your local store, but I got them at a great deal & I couldn’t pass them up. So I came home with four plants and had to find a new place for them.

A variety of house plants with antique finds behind them.

As we were heading to the area where the shop has plants, I saw this young gal with this unique little plant & I was intrigued. So I asked the gal what kind of plant it was. I just thought it was so cool, and she was so sweet that the gal gave me a clipping from it because there weren’t any more on the shelf. So I planted & looked it up on my plant app & it’s called “Mother of Thousands.” Cool, right?

Offset Spatula

This offset spatula reminded me so much of when my grandmother would ice cakes. I loved that it had a wood handle and was in excellent condition. Not that it was an antique, but I couldn’t pass it up. lol

Railroad Insulator

So typically, I wouldn’t add something like this to my home decor, but I thought this was pretty cool to display on the shelf or on a stack of old books and give it a new look. There were so many, primarily clear ones, but I was really drawn to the blue ones.

Step Stool

This, by far, is not antique, but it is sold wood, and I needed one for the upstairs closet, and it will do just fine. I have a stool on my list, but this is not the style I am going for.

My favorite thing I got from my Birthday Antique Haul!

Honestly, I love everything I scored, but if I had to choose, I would have to say I really love the large mason jars & wicker basket. The mason jars are a perfect addition to my collection of vintage jars. The basket is used for collecting dirty clothes in the laundry room.

I need to make this a birthday tradition to do every single year for my birthday!

I really do enjoy antiquing & thrifting. Mind you, I have gone to my local thrift stores on many occasions & walked out with nothing. But I still get excited just to see what’s out there that people have gotten rid of. It may not be for everyone, but for me, I am in my own glory when I have the chance to go, whether it’s the garage sales, flea markets, or the antique store. You never know what antiques or vintage items you will come across.

What’s your favorite from my birthday antique haul? Share in the comments 🙂
