Peeling eggs used to be my nemesis and can sometimes be frustrating and downright painful.  Sometimes, they don’t peel easily, and you lose some of the eggs with the shell. This does not work when you are making deviled eggs or want a go-to snack. And you all know how much my family and friends love my family recipe for deviled eggs!

I will share my secret with y’all that my mama shared with me many years ago for the easiest method for Easy peel hardboiled eggs. I tell you, it makes peeling hardboiled eggs SO much easier, & I always use this method every time. Maybe you will too!

I know there are several methods for easy peeling hardboiled eggs, including using an instant pot. I have tried so many methods over the years until I learned a new trick.

Stay away from fresh eggs! You want to make sure you purchase your eggs at least 1-2 weeks before needing to boil them.  Place eggs into pot & cover eggs with water. Once the water starts to boil, continue to boil for 16 minutes. Add cold water immediately and dump ice right into the cold water and eggs. This shocks them, and voila, your eggs are much easier to peel.  You’re welcome!  Another tip would be to keep the eggs in the cold water until you are ready to peel them.

Note: Hardboiled eggs can last in the refrigerator for up to a week.

There you have it. Easy peasy!

Great idea! I’m definitely going to try this next time I make deviled eggs!
