Old-fashioned Million Dollar pie has a creamy filling and a buttery graham cracker crust that is delicious and simple to make! Around the holidays, I have sweet memories of my grandmother baking and the delicious aromas that fill her house.
Those smells felt like love to me. You know there are some desserts you will never forget from childhood, and I’m thrilled that I still bake many of them today. I came across another dessert that my grandmother used to make called the Old Fashion Million Dollar Pie.
I almost forgot about this one! Not to mention, I remember it being so creamy, sweet, and delicious, made with a graham cracker shell.
My grandmother always had a knack for baking. They weren’t always recipes she came up with on her own; some recipes were from our family in Georgia or South Carolina. She always seemed to add her special flare, whether an extra ingredient or adjusting measurements to make it her own.
You can find any recipe online for an old-fashioned million-dollar pie, but there is something much more special about having a recipe from your family. I think it’s partly the memories of the dessert being made, the aromas in the air, and the love that make it taste much better.
