When we moved into our old home, I knew we had a lot of things we wanted to fix and replace, such as new flooring, converting the mud room into a laundry room, and so much more. With that in mind, we couldn’t do everything on our small budget. We made small tweaks along the way, but here we are six years later, and the house looks so different. Even though. we have so much more to do; we could not be happier with what we have done so far!

Enhance Your Home’s Exterior

Transform your home effortlessly with these simple tips! From tidying up the exterior to adding security features and installing new interior doors, discover easy ways to make a huge impact on your home’s look and feel.

Tidy Up The Outside

It might be that the main reason you’re not overly happy with your home and how it looks and feels is that the outside is messy. That can be such a problem for some people that it affects how they see everything, even if the inside looks fabulous. So, of course, the answer is to tidy up the outside and make it look wonderful.

There are a few different jobs that might need doing, but some to look for are mowing the lawn, tidying up any plants and shrubs, painting fences and gates, installing a new front door (or at least door hardware), patching up or replacing your driveway, fixing any broken slabs or fence posts, and so on. You’ll need to take an objective view of the outside of your property and list what needs doing so you don’t miss anything, but the results will be great when you do. Install New Interior Doors

You don’t have to change every aspect of your interior to make your home look entirely different. For example, you might be able to change your interior doors and install European interior doors that look chic and stylish and upgrade everything around them.

It could be that changing the doors is the only thing you need to do, or it might be that changing the doors is part of a bigger plan that includes painting all the walls (or hanging wallpaper), upgrading the flooring, and changing the window treatments. Whether it’s a small part of what you want to do or the whole thing, installing new interior doors is a great way to transform your home without too much effort.

Add Security Features

Is it really how your home looks that makes you feel less than positive about it? Could it actually be how safe and secure it is that’s the problem? If you’re constantly worried that someone could break in or that there’s a privacy issue in and around your home, you’re never going to be settled and happy there, and by addressing that problem, you can transform your home into somewhere you want to be.

The first thing to do is install a good alarm system to help you feel safer. You’ll also need to assess your home and see where potential intruders could get inside—are your windows and doors good enough, for example? When it comes to privacy, think about adding CCTV or lighting to the outside of your house, and make sure you’ve got good curtains or blinds at the windows so no one can see in.

  1. Hi Dusty, I just purchased some dark curtains for my living room, I bought them for more privacy. I love them for night time, I open them all the way before I leave for work, sunlight coming in really brightens up the whole first floor for the most part. Thinking about some sheers but I don’t know. Having a conflict within myself. Lol. I will have to think about it. Have a great day and keep up the interesting posts.
