Vintage Salt Glaze Cobalt Blue Stoneware Butter Crock was an unexpected find not only functional & beautiful but a unique conversation piece.

Vintage Salt Glaze Cobalt Blue Stoneware Butter Crock

I had been looking for something small enough to store my pink salt. I had it stored in an antique ball mason jar, but it was difficult to grab a pinch when needed for my recipes. As an avid thrifter, I am always hunting for something else that could work better. As I was browsing the internet, I came across this adorable little crock with a beautiful blue paisley design on eBay. It is a Vintage Salt Glaze Cobalt Blue Stoneware Butter Crock. and it was perfect!

A bit pricey, but I had to have it!

This adorable little antique crock is what I wanted to use in my kitchen as a salt cellar. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I knew I had to have it with its age, so I snagged it for $30.

The small crock is beautiful.

I could be happier with this darling antique Blue Stoneware Butter Crock. It is made very well of stoneware and has this hand-painted beautiful blue paisley design.

So Unique & funcional

The Vintage Salt Glaze Cobalt Blue Stoneware Butter Crock & Lid is a unique collectible and functional conversation piece for your kitchen!

I am not sure what country it the Blue Stoneware Butter Crock made in?

I have done quite a bit of research, and from what I gathered, it was more than likely made in Germany in the 1980s but I could be wrong. However, I was researching history on the crock, I have seen others with a similar design to the one I purchased are known as Antique German Knoblauch stoneware used for butter. However, these stoneware crocks usually have the word “Knoblauch” painted on them, whereas the one I have does not.

We have a cow print butter bell that sits on our counter… but that crock looks so classic and rustic! I love it!!

I love thrifting also! This is an adorable find. There are so many things related to homesteading that is not as readily available as they once were, so I love it when I can find functional (and in this case pretty) things that I can use.

Just up my alley, what a beautiful blue crock! I recently picked up a few crocks myself, but this one is definitely prettier!
