I am sharing what the best seven essential must-have kitchen tools that I find necessary to have in my kitchen. Having the right kitchen tools that are a must-have for your kitchen will help you prep efficiently and fundamentally.

I have quite a bit of a collection of kitchen tools & equipment stashed away that is barely needed. However, those that are crucial are used frequently and are always within arm’s reach. Therefore, if you ask me what are the best seven essential must-have kitchen tools are, I will share the tools that have become fundamental that my clan & I use daily and for food prepping to be more manageable but have become necessary essential equipment.

  • Cast Iron Skillets

Cast iron is one of my favorite kitchen tools & essential to use in the kitchen. We use our cast iron skillets several times a day daily. Not only can you whip up something on the stove, but they are great for baking too. It is also lovely to do one-skillet recipes to make cleaning up the kitchen easier. Ever since I inherited my grandmother’s cast iron several years ago, I have grown my collection & they have become necessary in our kitchen.

  • Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer

I love to bake! I especially enjoy making homemade bread. We keep this on our kitchen counter. I have had mine for over 25 years & it is still going strong. We don’t just use our kitchen aid stand mixer for baking; it sure has come in handy when we want to whip up a large batch of homemade mash potatoes.

  • Wooden Utensils

I have quite a bit of a collection stored in my crock on the kitchen counter that I have acquired over the years. They are essential to my cookware, and they don’t scratch my skillets or mixing bowls. I use them not only for cooking but for serving food too.

  • Mason Jars

By now, you know I have a love for my collection of mason jars, but I will tell you that they look beautiful displayed on the shelf and serve a purpose. Not only are they are one of my favorites, they are excellent for storing dry goods and great for storing leftovers from dinner as well. I also use them for storing milk, homemade tea & bacon grease. The use is endless.

I have an abundance of tea towels. We use them for drying dishes & hands. I have a separate stash of lint-free tea towels that we only use for oiling our cast iron skillets.

Over the years, I have acquired family recipes that are dear to my heart. Especially the recipes that are from my mother, grandmother & my mother-in-law. We use these recipes often. Several of my cookbooks are those I have acquired from my mother & grandmother.

  • Rolling Pins

I have a collection of very old rolling pins stored in a crock. They sure do come in handy for rolling out pie crust or when I make bread. Not that I need that many, but when my kids & I are rolling out pizza dough, it’s nice to have extra rolling pins on hand.

I love your style. I love my Kitchen Aid mixer, and mason jars are so handy for so many things! I’m a bit sad because I can’t safely use my cast iron pan on my ceramic cook top that came with our house, but when it dies, I’ll make sure I get something so I can use one again.

Aww thank you so much! Oh, that stinks. Hopefully, soon you will be able to use cast iron.

This list of kitchen essentials is spot on. From practical multi-use items, such as tea towels and mason jars, to your true kitchen workhorses – the wooden utensils and stand mixer, this list is exactly what you need on a daily basis for a functional and minimal kitchen space. Also, I love that your whole family is present in your essentials. The kitchen truly is the heart of the home.
