There is something so unique and so interesting about these Vintage wood finials door stoppers. So many beautiful designs & details.

In our 1885 home, one of the bedrooms still has the original solid wood Vintage wood finials door stoppers. There was something about it that I found to be so interesting & neat. And I thought about it for a bit & decided to do a search to see if I could actually purchase some antique ones for my house. I was actually shocked at how many antique dealers were charging.  I am talking $20, if not more, for just one. That’s right; I couldn’t believe one door stopper for twenty dollars.

I continued to search for Vintage wood finials door stoppers & came across a bundle of them on Etsy.

I was elated! And it was only $40 for all nine of them, and I couldn’t pass it up. I was so excited to get them. I received them quite fast as well. They had to be cleaned up & once I got all the dirt off, I oiled them up. One had white paint & a few were stained.

But the details, aaahhh, the details!!!! They are SO pretty!

I noticed that two of them were like a tongue & groove type fitting, so I am not sure how I could install it on the trim. I will have to think about it for a bit. There is one that I will have to add a screw into, but it is no big deal. The other ones that already have the screw on them should be easy enough to put on the trim.

I am not going to paint them.

I feel like it would ruin the patina if I do, so I will leave them as is since they are already in great condition. Needless to say, I am very happy with this purchase. I have them displayed in a metal basket until I get them installed in my home.

Do you have any Finial door stoppers in your home? Leave me a comment & let me know what you think! 🙂
